S'mores are the best treat & one of our favorites! They seem to be popping up in all sorts of weddings as favors & desserts. I saw these latest ones & they are so cute! Twine + kraft box + muslin bag + sweets = amazing! I also saw these kits which are adorable as well. We cannot have a fire at our wedding location, so we are thinking of alternatives, like these kits. The first kit even has a tea light & matches, ha!

I am SO excited about our engagment photos! Li is the BEST!! Seriously...& these are just the beginning. There is a CD on its way! I have been staring at these images since last night. It was so fun to relax for the afternoon & have some fun dancing around the city. We followed Li's plan & started off with cocktails at Bouchee Brasserie on Newbury Street, posed in front of a gothic-style cathedral, window-shopped at a Michel Delacroix gallery exhibit, walked down Commonwealth Ave mall, which Li told me was designed in the French boulevard style, which I can totally see, & ended at the Boston Public Garden. As Li pointed out, Boston can look very European & I could not agree more. At times I felt was I back in Paris! I think our personalities completely shine through on all of these photos & really capture us as a couple & as individuals. Yay!
I cannot wait for our wedding photos. They are going to be amazing!
It is getting pretty real over here! As you may have noticed in the last photo, that is one of the magnesium dies for our save the dates, which I will be letterpress printing sometime next week {it is a mirrored image so you may read it}!

These engagement photos are adorable. We {finally!} have our engagement photo session with our photographer this Sunday in the Boston Public Garden. We live in Providence & were originally going to have our photos done here, but the trees are bare & it looks like winter. Strangely enough, the leaves in the garden are still ablaze & still looking like the autumn in New England. Yes! Now to find a vintage traveling turntable...

Pumpkins, squash, & gourds...it's Autumn! With an Autumn wedding in Maine, I would love to have some of these quintessential items of the season deocrating the ceremony, cocktail, & reception sites. However, I do not want just an orange pumpkin plunked down on the ground. I am loving these creative ways to pretty-up & decorate with grourds. There is something so elegant & vintage about the lace-patterned pumpkins & the toadstool pumkins are completely adorable for a woodlands-inspired wedding. Continuing with my garland love, these simply strung gourds add a touch of rustic charm & are super simple to make. The gourd lights would be perfect for a tented or outdoor wedding. I better invest in some carving tools!

Nole posted this amazing chandelier today & I am in love! I am trying to figure out how we could use this for our wedding, which how I have been assesing all of my purchases as of late. If we can use it for the wedding & everyday life after the wedding then I am sold! I think this chandelier would be perfect for holding escort cards or displaying photos. You could also leave it empty & have guests attached little notes to it. At the end of the evening you would have a unique piece to hang in your new home. I would love to hang this in my studio!

Once we decided on using record album covers as our table numbers, I began to wonder how we would convey this simply & creatively on the escort cards. We could just write the name of the album along with the guests' names, but some albums may be less obvious than others. We will be selecting albums that are familiar to {most} guests & trying to sit guests at an album they will recognize {aunts at Johnny Cash, cousins at Michael Jackson, friends at Bob Marley, & so on...}. But then I saw these perfectly perfect escort cards today & I think this is it! I love tags & twine! Combined with photos of the album covers & pretty calligraphy, guests will surely find their way to their tables.

I normally do not repost something after I immediately see it on another blog, but this...this is amazing. As with most of our wedding planning, thoughts & inspration come in flashes. We have yet to say, "Okay, let's sit down & discuss..." The other day we were driving around LA when Rich asks his sister & me, "What do you think about the sand pouring thing?" None of us liked the idea & it reminds me of the sand art I used to do when I was young. Unity candles are nice but our ceremony is going to be outdoors. What does it mean when you light the candle & it blows out before the ceremony is complete...?
So this morning I saw this sweet wedding in the Berkshires & their unity candle alternative, I thought it was perfect. During the ceremony, the couple planted a small oak tree & invited their parents to contribute soil from the places where they grew up. What a wonderful & truly meaningful idea.

Flowers made with layers sparkling sheer fabric, silk, & tulle make these hair pieces so ethereal & lovely. The color palette for the hair pin sets is just gorgeous & could work for any bride & her bridesmaids. I love the disco lily hair pins the girls are wearing in the top photo. They are so fun for a wedding or any event!
