Aside from having a fantastic name, Sweet Berry Farm is a post & beam farm market on 100 acres of preserved farmland. It is filled with seasonal fruits, vegetables, & cut flowers including strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, peaches, & apples. The Pick-Your-Own season begins in mid-June with the first ripe strawberry & ends in December with cut-your-own Christmas trees. Most of the fruits will still be in season when we hope to have our wedding. How fun would it be to spend the morning of our wedding picking our own fruit to enjoy later? They also have a homemade ice cream & sorbet shop on the farm. I am there!
After reading through Sweet Berry's site I realized there were a couple important issues I had not thought about. First, this farm does not allow dogs. I completely assumed any farm would allow a dog, but RI Good Agricultural Practices {GAP} does not allow dogs on farms. I checked it out & sure enough III. C. 5. says no doggies allowed! So no Simone if we go with Sweet Berry, or any other farm in RI. So now I am going to see if this is the case in Maine & Massachusetts. Second, um...where is the restroom? I was looking at Sweet Berry's preferred vendor list & saw that a portable toilet place was last on the list. What? I have to rent a toilet? Right...if you want to get married in/by/on/next/near a barn on a farm in a field/orchard then you just might need a port-o-potty. Hm. As I type this I just remembered that Rich & I went to a wedding in Vermont & they had super fancy ones with sinks :: mental note made::

I got married on a farm in Maine and we had to go with port-o-potties. I was at first totally upset thinking smelly, claustrophobic portable toilets. But it's true they do have the deluxe ones with sinks, mirrors, and tons of space. I spruced up ours with special soaps and bud vases of flowers.

Sarah, you're killing me with all of these amazing east coast farms you're scoping out! Where are all the cool farms in Oregon? Ok, ok, I haven't looked. But I'm jealous regardless.

No cool farms in Oregon? That can't be! I mean out of all the states in the country, I would imagine Oregon would have a wealth of amazing farms to choose from. I've heard rumours of hippie communes as well and every hippie commune needs a farm, right?
