After discovering the huge (and not as far away as I had thought) JoAnn's Fabrics last week, I had to go back again! Last week I spent most of the time looking at (and buying) obsession number one: paper. Today, it was obsession number two: fabric. In general, I have an obsession over prints and patterns, which is why I read this blog. Love.
I went on a *little* paper and fabric spree online last week. Perhaps it is because I received my tax return and decided I needed a treat! (Yes...I will pay some of that credit card debit off too). There are so many amazing fabric sites, you could, and will, spend hours perusing the beautiful prints and patterns. Reprodepot and PurlSoho are two of my favorite sites, and I bought a few delicious yards of fabric from each, which should be arriving soon! Both sites carry similar fabric, but I found PurlSoho has more of a selection, however, Reprodepot is *slightly* cheaper (as in 25 cents a yard, but for a girl on a budget, every cent counts). Then there is JoAnn's Fabrics, which does not carry all of the fabrics of the others, however, the lemon Alexander Henry print on the upper right is carried by PurlSoho, but I found it at JoAnn's for almost $3 cheaper! Ek! And, none of those shipping charges.
Oh. And what do I plan to do with the above fabric? Something adorable for my little cousins. Since I am fairly new to the sewing scene...rather, I am back from a previous life of designing Barbie clothes, I figure if I mess up a bit, they will not notice! And you have to start somewhere.
