Meet Simone, our new puppy. Rich & I have been wanting a dog for some time now. Very few days went by when one of us did not say, "I wish we had a dog." Late night perusing of Pet Finder left us practically in tears over the cuteness of the dogs needing new homes. But we decided we would not get a dog until after we come back from Europe in October.
Two weeks ago we saw two dogs located somewhere in the South that were going to be transported by an organization called Golden Huggs in Vermont. We decided to apply for them. A day or two later we heard back from a volunteer for the organization saying she would like to visit our house. She also told us the two dogs we liked were already adopted. Disappointed we decided to still have her over. She mentioned she was fostering a dog that was up for adoption & asked if she could bring the dog over. Sure!
In pranced Simone & we were done for! Simone was born early June. She was set to be euthanized with her liter-mates in Tennessee. All the pups were rescued by another shelter & went to live on a farm until another shelter could transport them to foster/forever homes somewhere else. Simone & her liter-mates were transported by a rescue transport service in a huge trailer at the end of August. She had been living in Foster care just a few blocks away from our house!
I picked her up on Friday & we have been on a steady schedule of eat, sleep, play, & poop (hehe). This not-such-a-morning-girl is now becoming one. I actually enjoyed my 6:30 am walk with Simone this morning. Now to get Rich to join me...
We are so happy to have her in our little family now. She is cute, sweet, funny, a bit of a trouble-maker, & music-lover, of course. She will be staying with her Memere & Pepere in Portland, ME while we are away. I think she & Molly will get along quite well!
Happy Monday.

Oh my gosh! She is devastatingly adorable! What a sweetie!
