Vintage Peony Wedding

   
Saturday is still part of the week, right?  Yesterday escaped me, more specifically daylight escaped me & I did not get a photo of my last wedding of the week.  But here it is in all its prettiness.  The wedding is going to be a formal & elegant affair with a reception in a Victorian era casino. Inspired by the casino, the bride knew exactly what she wanted - peonies with a  vintage flourish.  Pink & green are the wedding colors & compliment the imagery so well.  I must say I love the reception card.  If I were a recipient, I would hang this up...right next to the invitation of course!

Cypress Tree Wedding

 
Yellow & gray is so lovely, no?  The cypress trees of the wedding location of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California inspired this suite.  Though I have never seen a cypress in person, it looks so elegant with its curving trunk.  I love these invitations, especially the envelopes & the return address with the mini tree!  Rich declared that to be his favorite part as well.  I have no doubt this will be a truly beautiful wedding under the tress & next to the ocean.  An invitation can make you feel that way... 

On a side note, this cypress printed :: perfectly ::  It can be a bit difficult to print large solid areas on a gocco, but I have pretty much mastered the technique {finally!} .  The results are truly stunning when the ink coverage is smooth & consistent. 

So, is it Friday already tomorrow?  Sheesh!  One more wedding to end the week.

Dutch Inspired Wedding

 
I loved the inspiration behind this wedding stationery - the bride's Dutch heritage.  I think my favorite part of the entire suite is the small windmill on the rsvp. 

This particular rsvp was a really great way to incorporate two ideas on one piece of paper.  The bride wante the rsvp to be a postcard, but also wanted space for guests to write a note.  I designed one side to incorporate the tulip imagery & space for guests to write their names & mark if they are coming.  The other side is a postcard where guests may leave a little message for the bride & groom along with the return address.  Saving paper {& money} while still looking pretty as ever! 

Inspired by an Album

Do you know Phillip Roebuck?  Rich played me his first album, Under the Matchlight, a couple years ago.  Roebuck recorded it by himself in a barn in Virginia where you can hear the crickets in the background of some of the songs.  It is a magical album that reminds me of late summer nights spent under the stars next to a camp fire.  Each song fills my heart with happiness, & just a touch of sadness.  But a good sadness...the type you should feel every so often.  I want to start the album & hit repeat so it plays in a continuous loop throughout our entire wedding.  Okay.  I am {partially} kidding.  But I want our wedding to make me feel the way Under the Matchlight makes me feel...& I am pretty sure it will.

Tandem Bicycle Wedding

Finally, right!?  My tandem bicycle stationery is a popular item both in my shop & at shows.  Every so often I receive an inquiry about using the image on a wedding invitation.  A few made it to the draft stage only to be overruled by a flower.  But the lovely couple I worked with for these invitations wanted nothing less than the tandem bicycle on both the invitation & rsvp.  Yay! 

I added a bit of retro flair with the swoops & swirls on the top of the invitation & on the back of the rsvp postcard.  It reminds me of party streamers.  Really fancy ones.   The couple live & are getting married in Ireland.  Oh!  Can you picture it now - riding through the green countryside with your love on your very own shiny blue tandem bicycle.  :: sigh ::
