April's Press & Post is all about flowering trees. Abundant, yet fleeting, they are every where! How can one not be inspired by them? Magnolias, dogwood, crabapple, crape myrtle, cherry... :: sigh :: I love them all.
I went with a pretty little image of a dogwood because I had so many lovely magnolia stamps & needed some balance. A side note: I know a lady slipper is not a flowering tree, but the colors were so perfect for the package. This month also included a larger, self-adhesive stamps {bottom photo}. I usually try to avoid these as they are hard to separate, but these worked, & good thing! Each package received one of the five different stamps.
I am fighting the urge to print a lilac this month{I do not want to smoother you with flowers}...but I may give in. Currently every vase or vessel that holds water is full of lush, sweet lilacs. I could sleep on them. Really.

I was surprised by mine yesterday! It's sooooo beautiful. It's delicate and lovely. I was holding it up in our front yard, showing my hubs, like a big nerd. =)
And please don't resist the urge to do a lilac. Pretty please. Peonies and Lilacs are what May is all about!

Please do lilacs! A bed of lilacs to sleep on would be heavenly.

I received mine yesterday - thank you! My husband got to the mail first and said I had gotten some letter in a brown envelope - and then I was amazingly excited - he hasn't caught on quite yet. But thank you, thank you, thank you, I can't wait to send this card on it's way to a dear friend.

Sarah, I saw the cards you made for Li - absolutely fantastic! I'm a regular stalker on her blog. I was looking at your website and while your work is beautiful, I wasn't able to see the press of the images. The ones shown above in your blog show it better. I can see the indentations, and after all, isn't that what it's all about?May I suggest swapping out some of your pictures on your web site? Just a friendly suggestion.

Hi everyone, Sarah here. Just wanted to address the above comment. On www.parrottdesignstudio.com most of the invitations are done with my gocco, where, like traditional screen printing, the ink sits on top of the paper, so there is no impression on the invitation or to show in photos. However, the above cards are letterpress, therefore, an impression is made & shown in the photos. I am working on an updated of my website where gocco & letterpress will be separate. Thanks!!
