This past Saturday we threw my sister a surprise bridal shower. It has been months in the making with my mom & I busy behind the scenes including multiple secret trips to Portland, Maine {where I am from, where my parents & sister live, & where the shower was}. I took many photos of the various decorations & favors we made & my mom's beautiful centerpieces which I will share next week. For now, I will share the invitations!
My sister's colors are black, white, pink, & green. The wedding does not have a theme, but elements Jess would like to harmoniously combine including hydrangeas, lighthouses, &.....peacock feathers. All with a vintage twist. The peacock feathers will come into play for the wedding invitation & reception decor, but for now we focused on hydrangeas for the invitations & lighthouses for the centerpieces for the bridal shower. The invitations were letterpress in a fabulously bright pink on fluorescent white Lettra paper with coordinating envelopes. I knew her fiance would not want pink envelopes for the wedding invitation so now was my chance to get girlie. After two months of keeping these a secret from Jess, I was finally able to show them to her & she loved them {& understands why I did not want to use hydrangeas on her wedding invitation}!
After Jess's shower we drove to Boston for her bachelorette party, so needless to say I am beat! After four straight nights of not going to bed before 2am I went to bed at 9pm last night & I am still tired. I will be back to share May's Press & Post & possibly a peek at my sister's wedding invitations, which are going out in the mail this week. I also have four other weddings I have yet to share with you...!
Edit: Check out photos of my sister's bridal shower here!

Haha, for some reason my mind read Portland, but not the Maine part. So I thought you drove all the way from Oregon to Boston! Yeah, I'd say you'd be tired! hehehe
This is so perfectly lovely. What a lucky sister! I can't wait to see the rest. =)

I know the New England states are tiny in contrast to the western ones where I grew up, but it boggles my mind the idea of driving from Main to Massachusettes for a night out!!! Where I live driving across a state line is tantamount to a weekend trip. :) Beautiful job on the cards! Can't wait to see how you use peacock feathers.
