The biggest hike of our trip to Acadia was climbing Mount Cadillac, the highest point on the eastern seaboard. After reading our hiking guides, which suggested each trail up the mountain was "strenuous" we chose what we thought would be the "easiest" one. Geesh! Were we wrong. But we still had a good time climbing over all those boulders on the Gorge Trail.
p.s. I swear I brought other clothes to wear. I just happen to put the stripes on each time I was chilly!
We decided to take it easy on our actual anniversary & visited the Wild Gardens of Acadia at the Sieur de Monts Spring & walked the Jessup Trail.
We also visited Sand Beach, Otter Cliffs, and Pretty Marsh.
Before our anniversary dinner at The Burning Tree, we opened up a bottle of wine we brought back from our honeymoon in Santorini. We decided to start a tradition of getting a bottle of wine wherever we happen to be on a particular anniversary & saving it for the next. We found a local vineyard to buy our bottle to enjoy on our second anniversary!
Our last two nights in MDI were spent at the adorable Primrose Inn in Bar Harbor. I loved the rooms full of antiques & huge floral wallpaper. They served a delicious breakfast & had afternoon tea & sweets!
Five glorious days spent in one of the most beautiful locations went by in a flash. It was the perfect way to celebrate our first year as husband & wife & to start the second. We are already planning a trip in the Spring because we simply cannot wait to go back!
If you would like to see all of our Acadia photos you may see them HERE.

Happy anniversary!!!! what a beautiful place you found to celebrate it. Love your anniversary tradition re the vino!! xox
