I have been saving this invitation suite for what seems like an entire year! I started working with the wonderful couple, Su-Lin and Shawn, after a past client recommend them to me. Love that! Su-Lin and Shawn came to me needing invitations for two separate events for their wedding - a pre-ceremony celebration with close friends and a formal ceremony and reception for extended family and friends.
They came to me with very clear ideas for both invitations. For the more informal and fun event they wanted to include peacocks, clovers, and ferns. I knew my friend and illustrator extraordinare, Jennifer Judd-McGee, would be the one to create the perfect images for the design. Jen illustrated the most adorable and perfect peacock as well as various ferns and clovers with I then arranged in the save the date and invitaiton design.
There was so much detail in Jen's illustrations and they looked absolutely amazing letterpress printed!
For the more formal ceremony and reception, we went with an elegant calligraphy design based on the Madeline design in my ready-made collection. The invitations were corner-rounded and edge-painted in a soft matte gold ink. You may recall seeing a few peeks of this suite earlier this summer!
Grace Edmands provided all of the stunning calligraphy on the envelopes for the formal event. The calligraphy was a bit of a last-minute decision, and we could not have done it without her speedy turnaround!
Each piece was letterpress printed in matte gold ink on 220 lb. pearl white paper. The pre-ceremony celebration save the date and invitation, along with the folded thank you notes, were paired with 100% recycled brown kraft envelopes. The invitation envelopes were lined with shimmery gold paper. The formal event invitations were paired with coordinating pearl white envelopes and also lined with shimmery gold paper.
This was one of the largest print runs I have ever done for a wedding invitation with over 1,000 pieces printed and over 600 envelopes lined!! I also learned that shipping to Singapore 3+ times is one of the most nerve-wracking things I have done. But it can be done and in 3 days no less!

Oh, my! These are just too incredible! Beautiful, beautiful work.
