We have a few new cards for Valentine's Day (or any day you want to send a little love!) in our Shop.
Jane and Dana were married this past weekend at The Barn at Flanagan Farm in Buxton, Maine. They came to me by way of the fabulous Meagan Gilpatrick of Maine Seasons Events for all their paper goods. The lovely couple were planning a fun, laid-back, weekend-long celebration for their friends and family who were traveling from all parts of the world to Jane's homestate of Maine. With a love for glittlering gold accents and champagne, I set out to create a festive invitation suite worthy of their affair!
We paired the suite with the bright and summery Vintage Seed Packet Stamps (seriously, how great are these?). The envelopes were calligraphed by one of my favorites, Astrid Wendth of Astrid Elizabeth Calligraphy & Design. I did not get a photo of them, but the ink was gold and gorgeous.
The suite was foil stamped in gold and letterpress printed in grey inks on bright white 100% cotton paper, paired with coordinating white envelopes.
Meghan and Justin were married last summer in Skaneateles, New York. Their reeception was held at the Skaneateles Country Club, located on Skaneateles Lake in the heart of the Finger Lakes. It is a gorgeous, elegant location and we used it as inspiration for the inviation suite. We added sublte nautical touches, like a robe border around the invitaion and reception card and wide cabana stripes for the envelope liners.
Each piece was letterpress printed in navy blue on 100% cotton paper in bright white. I love that Meghan was open to using colored enveopes in a snappy grass green. It is the perfect way to bring in a second color without adding to the cost of the invitation suite.
Happy Friday! We are heading up to Maine this weekend for some lobster-roll-eating, swimming-in-the-ocean, saltwater-taffy-indulging adventures, and it reminded me of these pretty map-inspired invitations.
Sarah and Andrew were married in Fort Preble Park at Spring Point last summer. It is an idyllic and gorgeous spot to be married with views of Portland, Maine, Casco Bay, and Portland Head Light. The couple loved the water and to sail, so we decided to include a nautial chart on their invitation.
We are back from the National Stationery Show and catching up on our emails, blog reading, Facebook posting, and Instagraming. We have so much to share including the over 30 new cards we launched at the show, all the new stores they will be sold, and photos of our amazing booth. But, I thought I would share some new wedding work today. As some may have noticed, we are working on a new website, which will be filled with our new work, but in the meantime, I will be sharing more here.
Emily, the bride, loved some of the past invitations Li Ward of Fat Orange Cat Studio, and I have collaborated on, and decided she wanted an all-calligraphy suite. We love Emily! The suite included an invitation, reply postcard, accommodations card, and custom map of Boston, Massachusetts. Each piece was letterpress printed in a beautiful sea-glass green on 100% cotton paper.
Li also did all of the calligraphy on the brown kraft envelopes. White ink on kraft! You know we love that!
As I hope you all know, Li is first and foremost, an amazing photographer (I know. So talented!), so she is only taking on a select few calligraphy jobs per wedding season. So if you like what you see, we recommend starting as early as you can. And we hope you do!
