I am sure I have mentioned this a number of times, but Pineland is a dairy farm & make their own cheese.  The reason I mention this so often is...we love cheese!  Who doesn't, right?  Even though I am lactose-intolerant, I do not let it stop me for indulging every once in a while.  Originally we were going to forego the cheese at our cocktail hour, then my mom & sister asked, "isn't that one of the things they are known for?"  Um...yes!  What were we thinking?  So, cheese at the reception it is!  We are going to have a few different options for people to try.  I adore the bottom display with its rustic, French charm.  Our cocktail is taking place outdoors, so I do not want anything too light or breakable.  The top right cheese displayed on a wood slice is perfect for our setting.  As guests nibble on cheese & sip wine they will have sweeping views of the pinetrees & the White Mountains off in the distance.  Mmm...I could go for some cheese right about now.  

Menu Planning = Tasty!

Last we left off on the menu planning, I was a bit scared!  This was due to our pescatarian diet & the fear that people may not accept our meat-free menu.  However...we had our tasting on Friday & it was approved by my mom, dad, & sister.  Yay!  It was so delicious!  Looking at these photos makes me wish I had that cheese platter in front of me right about now.  So here is the breakdown as it stands:

Chicken kabobs with peanut dipping sauce
Crab meat & risotto-stuffed mushrooms

Main Course
Clam chowder
Mini Barbeque Tempeh Sandwiches
Butternut squash ravioli with grilled asparagus in an asiago & sun-dried tomato cream sauce
Baked haddock {traditional New England-style, lightly breaded with butter & lemon}
Vegetable Ratatouille {our vegan option}
Spinach & roasted garlic risotto {this was one of the best risottos I have ever had & it was vegan}
Pull-Apart Cheesy Onion Bread

Late-Night
French fries with horseradish, caper, & aioli mayo

Dessert
Croquembouche, cupcakes, & desserts galore by my sister, Nothing Bakes Like a Parrott.   

We are really happy to have seriously yummy pescatarian, vegetarian, & vegan options that will most certainly please the meat-loving palates! 

Hay Bale Seating

Just a little collection of hay bale seating photos I have been staring at as of late.  Most of our family were none too wild about hay bale seating for the ceremony {c'mon!  Look at that bottom photo!}.  However, I am still going to work it in via the cocktail hour-ish.  I love how the hay bales formed an entire love seat in the first photo.  The photo with the pillows on top are fun & comfortable looking, however our cocktail is outside with no walls around, so I think a simple hay bale covered in a pretty vintage quilt will be the way we go.  I have checked vintage plate collecting off the list {yay!}, so I guess I will add vintage quilt collecting on.
