I am SO excited about our engagment photos!  Li is the BEST!!  Seriously...& these are just the beginning.  There is a CD on its way!  I have been staring at these images since last night. If you have a moment, you must hop over to Li's blog to read the full story {& see a few more photos!}.  I must agree we are all a match made in heaven.  

It was so fun to relax for the afternoon & have some fun dancing around the city.  We followed Li's plan &  started off with cocktails at Bouchee Brasserie on Newbury Street, posed in front of a gothic-style cathedral, window-shopped at a Michel Delacroix gallery exhibit, walked down Commonwealth Ave mall, which Li told me was designed in the French boulevard style, which I can totally see, & ended at the Boston Public Garden.  As Li pointed out, Boston can look very European & I could not agree more.  At times I felt was I back in Paris! I think our personalities completely shine through on all of these photos & really capture us as a couple & as individuals.  Yay! 

I cannot wait for our wedding photos.  They are going to be amazing!

It is getting pretty real over here!  As you may have noticed in the last photo, that is one of the magnesium dies for our save the dates, which I will be letterpress printing sometime next week {it is a mirrored image so you may read it}!

Engagement Photos - Sneak Peek

Hello there!  Here we are!  Rich & I had a blast walking around Boston yesterday afternoon with Li & her husband, Dan.  From drinks at Bouchee, to window shopping on Newbury Street, to lounging in Boston Common, Li set out the most amazing, & organized, plan for us.  I cannot wait to share more!

Beautiful Engagement

I love to watch Rich play his guitar {so does our dog}.  I saw the above image & was completely inspired for our engagement photos.  The composition & colors are just lovely.  I really like the idea of incoporating a prop {seems like balloons are popping up in a lot of photos lately} & this ukulele is so perfect. 

We have been waiting impatiently for the snow to thaw & melt away so we can take our engagment photos!  Of course, we have done little to no research on a photographer yet.  We have a few friends who dabble in photography & I think it would be fun & very natural to have one of them snapping photos of us.  We have another set of friends getting married in May & their photographer did an amazing job with their engagement photos.   

As long as we figure out who is going to take the photos by the time the dogwoods bloom in May & one of these guys are around to casually walk through the background of the photo I will be happy. 

edit: Rich would like to point out that a guitar is not a prop if you know how to play it, therefore, if we have a guitar in the photos it is not a prop, because he knows how to play {extremely well I might add}.  So I guess it is...an...accessory?  A balloon is definitely a prop.

La Tour Eiffel.  Even if you have not been to Paris it evokes some sort of emotion.  For me it was a kind of romance & glamor that only existed in dreams or days gone by, & certainly not something that could exist in my reality.  But that all changed. 

Rich & I set out for the tower on our first full day in Paris, each with our own agendas {unbeknownst to each other of course}.  We enjoyed our daily dose of pain au chocolat & crepes au chocolat {seriously, we are in Paris.  Chocolate for every meal is quite okay} we walked through one of the small parks below the tower.  It was early still & few people were in the park.  We stopped at the pond to admire the ducks {because the Parisian mallard is so much more chic than the American, no?}. 

What occurred next is still as hazy as the morning it happened.  I snapped a photo of a duck, looked over at Rich to discover he was down...on...bended knee!  What!?!  I am not sure if he held my hands or I clutched the camera, but I do know he asked me to marry him & I do know that I said YES!  As in "yesofcourseohmygoodnessIcannotbelievethisishappening.  Okay breathe."  He stood up & pulled the ring out of his pocket.  The ring that he carried around everyday in his work bag for two weeks before our trip & for 3 days in Amsterdam & 1 day in Paris.  The ring that he, with a bit of help from his mom & sister, picked out by himself.  The ring that is absolutely perfect & the first real piece of jewelry that I have owned & actually worn.  Then I cried.   I knew when the day came that Rich proposed to me it would be a surprise.  He always said it would be.  Was it ever!

 

 

 

Eventually we did climb 668 steps to the second platform of the the tower.  The haze added to the dreamy feeling I was in.  We decided not to climb to the top, but this was close enough to the sky for me!

 

When we came back down {though my heads were still in the clouds!} we went back to the spot where he proposed to snap this photo...just as the sun came out.  We walked around Paris for the remainder of the day, visited Les Invalides then went back to our apartment in Montmartre for some wine to celebrate!
