Inspired by classic concert posters, these invitations & rsvps were designed by the bride & groom & letterpressed by me. Though it looks like handset type, it is all on one magnesium plate. Hand-setting this invitation would have been crazy...fun & a learning experience, but crazy. With vintage inspired borders & corners, the suite remains modern & light-hearted. The little birds add a touch of whimsy as well! Another fun part - the invitations are only 4.25 x 5.5" & the rsvps are 3.5 x 5"...invitations need not be big to have an impact. Less paper is always a good thing as well. Speaking of which, these were printed on pearl white lettra paper with brown ink hand-mixed to match Benjamin Moore's Falcon Brown.
So, as you may have noticed lately, I have been doing a bit of printing for others. I do not put myself out there for the printing of other's designs as I do not consider myself strictly a letterpress printer. However, I do not consider myself strictly a designer either. I know some say you cannot do both well, but I disagree. I want to be a part of each step in the process because it gives me more control of the final product. However. If you have a design, want me to print it or take a little look-see, let me know. I have a hard time saying no to the prospect of a pretty design pressed into cotton paper. Spreading the letterpress love...
I love this design! How can I get some?
