My New Year's resolution of posting more often is not going so well. I will try again next week. Today I have a lovely wedding invitation & an even lovelier couple to share with you. Laura & Justin came to me looking for custom invitations, social stationery, & programs for their...surprise wedding! They had every detailed planned from the church ceremony to dinner at a romantic inn; an amazing photographer to the perfect winter wedding outfits. Now they just need to share the news with their family.
The handlettering of Betsy Dunlap took center stage on the wedding invitation, which was letterpress printed on 100% cotton Lettra paper in white in warm gray ink. No RSVP was needed as Laura & Justin hand delivered each invitation a week before their wedding. The wedding programs were letterpress printed on both sides so I used a thick, duplex Lettra stock. This allowed for a deep impression on both sides with little show-through. Since their wedding was a very intimate affair, Laura wanted to send announcements to their family & friends who were not there. I kept the style similar to the invitation, but in a small size {the invitations were 5 x 7" & the announcements were 4.25 x 5.5"}. Laura wanted to add a bit of color to the announcements & the social stationery. I took inspiration from the decor of the inn where they had dinner & found a wonderful paper to line the warm gray envelopes. I love the simplicity of all the pieces in the suite & the bright surprise of the paper. It is quite fitting with the whole event!
Now, one of my other New Year's resolutions was to share more stories behind my work {the good & not so good}, so I would be remiss if I did not share that 1. Laura & Justin have the patience of a saint because; 2. I shipped their box to another newly wed couple who, in turn, received Laura & Justin's programs, which lead me to be; 3. Printing & running to Fed Ex on New Year's eve. Thank goodness for amazing, patient clients, {& my own, supportive fiance} right?
Enjoy your weekend! I am going to attempt to help Rich assemble my Christmas present, check it out! Yay!
The invites are stunning! And I am soooo jealous of your new cutter!
