I recently design & gocco screenprinted these gorgeous invitations for a lovely couple in California. Vanessa & Adam are getting married at Cayucos Creek Barn, which looks like such a unique venue {you know me & barns...}! The barn is 100 years old & located one mile from the beach in Central California. The barn is surrounded by green pastures, oak trees, organic farms, avocado groves, meadows, a creek, & the breeze from the ocean. :: sigh ::
When Vanessa described her wedding I knew we had the same aesthetic; homespun, fun, with vintage charm; a casual affair with a little glamor here & there. Love it! They are having ivory tablecloths with burlap runners, blue Ball jars filled with anemones, ranunculus, magnolias, peonies, roses, & tulips in shades of peach, blush pink, & pale yellow, & tea lights. Did I mention a love bird theme? Oh yes! Vanessa created a stunning inspiration board that I must share:
Just gorgeous. Vanessa was inspired a bit by another couple I worked with, Ali & Ian {aka Mrs. Cowboy Boot!} whose reception is shown in the first three photos. I am so fortunate to work with couples who have such beautiful taste & style!
So, on to the invitations. Going with the love bird theme, I created two bird silhouettes on some flowering branches. For an added bit of romance & whimsy, I placed a small heart above the birds. The couple plans on using their initials surrounded by a heart & arrow at the ceremony & reception {like the carved birch tree in one of the photso above}, so incorporated a small arrow through the "and" between their names. I created a small card directing guests to the couple's website where they could RSVP. This piece saved on paper & postage! The suite was gocco screenprinted in blue & peachy-pink inks on 100% cotton lettra paper in Pearl & paired with 100% recycled brown kraft envelopes.
Hiee there, it's such joy to have found your very inspirational blog! I was poking around for wedding and bussiness letterpress cards and came accross your site! So many many wedding inspirationa and ideas! Hope your weekend was wonderful! Have a lovely merry happy week ahead and love to you!
