I like to wait until a couple has sent out their invitations & their guests have received the lovely goods before sharing them here. I do not think everyone is reading my blog, I just like the couple to have an opportunity to share the invitations with their guests first. These particular invitations have been under wraps for quite some time because some of the guests receiving these invitations do follow my blog! Stephanie, the bride, & I have know each other for almost 10 years {can you believe that, Steph?}. She was one of the first people I met at our college orientation oh so long ago so I was thrilled when she wanted me to design & print her wedding invitations.
Steph & her fiancé, Evan, are planning a fourth of July fête at the Pleasantdale Château. Self-described as a storybook setting, the historic venue is a breath-taking location for wedding reception, complete with a farm, apiary, & gardens. Steph wanted to reflect the location in her invitations with classic & elegant patterns using a palette of navy blue, white, & silver as a subtle nod to the fourth of July holiday. For the invitation I chose an elegant & intricate pattern which was blind debossed {no ink}. The scrolling typeface was equally elegant & was partially printed over the blind debossed pattern. I carried the same pattern over to the RSVP & the reception card had a coordinating pattern. The three pieces were held together by a shimmery silver belly band printed with the monogram I designed for them. Each piece was letterpress printed on 100% cotton white Lettra paper in deep navy blue ink.
The coordinating white envelopes were beautifully calligraphed by the ever-talented Grace Edmands. Even though I knew Grace was doing the calligraphy, I was still so excited to receive my sample in the mail. Seriously, I cannot recommend enough 1. having your envelopes calligraphed. After putting so much time, love, & attention into your invitations, calligraphy really is the finishing piece to bring everything together, & 2. having your envelopes calligraphed by Grace. We all know how much I love her work & you can certainly see why! Grace is also doing the calligraphy for Steph's escort cards, which will be small white cards with navy blue ink inside matching navy blue envelopes with silver ink. They are going to be stunning. Hopefully I will have photos of the wedding to share later this summer!
ThoSe invites are spectacular - what a wonderful memory they will make! I'd love to hear more about your production process.

These are beautiful and all the more exciting as this is right around the corner from where I live! It's kind of exciting to see this come so close to home! If you have time make sure you go to the Eagle Rock Reservation and check out the view of NYC--I took my 90 year old grandmother yesterday for mother's day and she was stunned/amazed! At 90 years she thought she'd seen it all. You'll be on the same road so please do check it out! Enjoy!
