Baillie & Daniel are getting married this weekend at The Fairmont, a luxury hotel located in the heart of Winnipeg. Baillie loved this particular invitation design, based on Betsy Dunlap's calligraphy. I commissioned Betsy for the lettering of Baillie & Daniel's names, along with a few other words for the RSVP, weekend event card, & their thank you notes. Baillie's color story of gold, black, & soft white was inspired by Jo Malone, famous for their cream boxes with black edging & satin ribbon. I have never actually experienced any of their scents, but they sound divine!
For the paper, I chose Arturo's 100% cotton in soft white. The invitation is 6 x 9," the largest invitation I have printed! This size allowed for their hand-lettered names to be a bit larger & to really make a statement when their guests' opened the envelope. The suite also include a weekend events card for those invited & two separate RSVP cards, depending on which events the guests were invited to attend. Each piece was letterpress printed in black ink. To bring in the gold, I found the most beautiful screen printed paper with shimmery gold swirls that fit the feel of the invitation, & their wedding, perfectly. Each of the 160 envelope liners were cut by hand {by me!}.
I love how these invitations came together. Betsy's calligraphy letterpress printed in black ink paired with the soft, cotton paper, & shimmery gold swirls of the envelope liner made for a simply stunning invitation suite.
So beautiful Sarah!
Thank you for making such incredible invitations for us!!
