I have been designing & printing accessories {or day-of stationery} for various weddings. Many of these pieces never make it here or my website & I thought it was about time to share! Today I have a few tasty menus to share & to give couples out there a few inspirational ideas for their menus.
Brooke & Marcus were married this past weekend in Aspen, Colorado. I designed a menu using the same aspen leaf image from their invitation along with the same script typeface. Each menu was letterpress printed by me with a blind deboss {no ink} for the leaf & gold on 100% cotton paper in white. Gold letterpress ink has a very subtle shimmer making for a very elegant final piece. The menus were A2 {4.25 x 5.5"} & each guest had one at their place setting. Can we talk about the ice cream sundae with housemade gelato? Heaven!
Baillie & Daniel were married at The Fairmont, a luxury hotel in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I carried over lettering by Betsy Dunlap that was also used on their wedding weekend card from their invitations to continue the modern & elegant feel of their stationery. The menu was 4.5 x 9" & were tucked into cloth napkins on each place setting. Baillie had the menus digitally printed by a local printer & cut them herself. I love the little flourish at the bottom! I could also go for some warm nan bread right about now!
Jessica & Christopher's invitations were inspired by Western poster & mixed typography, & I continued that design to their menus. I brought back the pointing finger because it was the groom's favorite element & I introduced a few new typographic elements that were historically used in letterpress printing. The menus were gocco screenprinted with burgundy & chocolate brown inks {side note: I am not longer offering gocco printing, which you may read more about here}. The menus were A2 {4.25 x 5.5"} & each guest had one at their place setting.
Reading these menus makes me 1. very hungry; 2. excited for our wedding menu! We have a mere 25 days to go. Unbelievable! It was actually 5 years ago today that Rich & I first started talking. It has been nearly 2 years since we were engaged. I have not been the greatest at updating our wedding blog in the last few months, mostly due to being so busy with studio work & creating a lot of our own wedding goodness behind the scenes. In the next few weeks I am going to step it up & post some updates of all of our projects. Fun!
