Last week was my Memere & Pepere's 70th Wedding Anniversary & we had a celebration in their honor. The 70th Anniversary is the Platinum Anniversary {yes, same as the 20th...I suppose you start repeating at some point!}. I was away on our honeymoon while my sister & mom did most of the planning & organizing, but before I left we collected inspiration for the celebration.

We wanted a romantic, vintage feel to the celebration, with just a hint of New England Fall. We chose the color palette of greens, soft whites, platinum/silver, with just a touch of black. For the decorations we planned to use seasonal flowers {most likely mums} & white pumpkins on silver candle sticks or cake stands as centerpieces & on the dessert table, as well as lace & black & white bakers twine.
For the invitations I chose a floral image that reminded me of mums. To bring in the feeling of lace, I printed the flowers in a blind deboss {no ink} with green text. I backed the invitations with a shimmery silver paper. I also included a small, flat printed RSVP card with the meal choices & a phone number to call one of my aunts with the choice {it was a small, family-affair}. Since the invitations were square, they required extra postage {.20 extra to be exact}. I had originally planned on collecting vintage postage, but being a mere week before my own wedding when I printed these & time running short, I decided to go with the pretty .64 monarch stamp from the USPS.
I will have photos of the celebration & our inspriation realized later this week!
