This past Spring I worked with Loi & Jon on their vintage postcard-inspired save the dates which featured the the iconic Mount Hope Bridge in Rhode Island because guests will cross this bridge when they travel to the wedding. Over the summer Loi & I worked together on her four-piece wedding stationery suite, along with her programs, escort cards, menus, & favor tags. Today I am sharing the wedding invitations!
We continued the floral theme from the save the dates, using more simplified & clean images, as well as the same colors & typefaces. Loi really loved the idea of printing in a blind deboss (no ink). I used the entire floral image on the invitation, printing in a blind deboss. I then used various pieces of the floral image on the RSVP, reception card, & weekend events card. The RSVP needed meal choices so we incorporated the food icons of a cow, fish, & carrot. Using the icons is a subtle way to bring a little fun & whimsy into an otherwise clean & classic suite. The couple was having a welcome dinner & post-wedding brunch & wanted to include a card with the suite with the addresses. Below the events we included their website so guests knew where to find addtional information & directions.
The invitation was printed on 100% cotton paper in Pearl white with persimmon ink {& the blind deboss}. The return address on the RSVP envelope & main invitation envelope were printed in a sage green to match the envelope liners. Loi's grandmother addressed all of their envelopes which were completed with vintage stamps Loi had been collecting all summer.
I will share their day-of stationery soon!
