Hello. So...I am not sure if anyone noticed, but I changed a few major {to me, at least} things around here. First, I changed the design of this here blog a bit. Larger photos, less text on the side, more breathing room.
Second, I changed the font of "things are better with a parrott." It took me well over a month of debating with myself & anyone who would listen/care about the pros & cons. Since I first opened shop almost two years ago I have only changed my font once & I have been using the same pink & green. I am all about brand consistency over here. While I loved my last font & all the pink...I had to shake some of the girliness off. Enter new casual script, serif font, & warm gray.
Third, I changed my etsy shop name. You cannot change your actual etsy user name which I find slightly annoying, only because I chose my user name of sarahparrott825 when I joined etsy as a buyer almost six months before I opened shop {which some people actually call my shop when they mention my stationery on their blogs...?}. I know I could have started a new account, however I really had no idea where I was going with all this & I just jumped in. Thus, "things are better with a parrott" the etsy shop was born & named after this blog, which I also began a few months before I opened shop. Last summer I created my website at www.parrottdesignstudio.com but still called myself "things are better with a parrott." Confused yet? Now, as I am about to enter my third year of business I decided everything needs to be under one {shorter} name. Enter Parrott Design Studio.
I know. Perhaps I could have been a bit more creative, but how many people have Parrott as their last name? And it will not be Parrott forever. That will be a funny day, "Hi, I am Sarah Bianculli of Parrott Design Studio." Wha...? Ha. I am looking forward to it.
And that, my friends, is the longest way ever to introduce my new business cards! I am currently working on a redesign of my website as well, changing the name on the homepage to Parrott Design Studio, adding more photos, detailed custom design information, & so on. My new business card is a little peek at what the site will look like. Nothing crazy, just new colors with the same, simple, clean layout as always.
Thanks for reading, all! Just for kicks, below is a photo that makes me feel embarrassed yet proud of my humble beginnings. I give you my first business card:
Yes. I once had an actual parrot on my business cards & my very first etsy banner.
